strategy question: MRs or closers for wins?

Postby George_Foreman » Sat Oct 02, 2004 1:34 am

so, I want to give myself a chance to get a win or two on Sunday, but at the same time i don't want to risk screwing my WHIP or ERA too much. i figure the best way to do this is to start a bunch of players who migh vulture a few wins.

so my question is, will closers or MR give me the best chance to vulture a win? i'm aware that it's mostly luck that determins whether you'll get a vultured win, but what do you guys think? should i pick up some MR who are being used in situations where they have been vulturing wins? or should i stick with my closers?

The top ten holders in the league average 6 wins

The top ten closers average 3 wins.

Looks like the MRs are the way to go.

Vulture wins are always tough, but I'd take the shot with middle relievers over closers.

Good job with the research GotowarMissAgnes.... looks like MR's are the clear-cut choice.

I am very happy with Brazoban ;-D I picked him up about a week ago and today he got me a W for the 3rd time. I will most likely finish in secind place in my league. Cant win it.

Wins are all luck. I have this Public league, (I know they suck), I am down by 4 points and I had so many innings to use so I needed to pick up some spot starters to have a chance at winning. There werent many good options for today so I decided to add 4MR in hopes of wins. I added Carrar, Brazoban, Donelly and Ayala.
So far 2 wins from Brazoban and Donelly.
