Since poker seems to be the leisure game of choice for a lot of people here, I thought it'd be a good idea to start a thread for people to post upcoming free/cheap online tournaments. It could give us a little competition between each other. There's a free Hold 'Em tournament starting in 15 minutes on Pokerstars.

Missed the freeroll though. Oh well, Pokerstars freerolls really aren't that much fun to play.

I'm not at a table at the moment but will be back in shortly, just search up Baseballer02. What's your id on pokerstars?

And also, how are the real money tourneys on pokerstars? It seems like $20 tourneys have like a $1500 1st place prize and pay all the way down to the 40s with only 200 or so entries. I've been considering making my first deposit there, but will probably hold out for the Pary Poker chip set deal.

As to the money tourneys, the action is pretty good, but the payout is heavily geared toward winning it all. Drives me nuts to play for 3 hours and break even or make just a fraction more than the entry fee. I still play the tourneys though. Can just be annoying sometimes. ;-)

I see you're at a stud table, is that all you play? I'm more of a Hold 'Em player.

I play everything. Going to start working on Omahell....er....Omaha pretty soon. :-)

I tried a couple hands of Omaha. Too many cards flyin around for my liking.

Yeah, it takes some getting used to. I can play and know how to play, but I haven't stuck any money on it yet. ;-)

I've found low limit stud to be a very nice cash cow though and the hands take long enough that I can get all my other catching up done while it runs in the background.

Gotta pay a lot more attention when playing Hold 'Em in order to learn the players. Stud's not quite as big of a deal with who plays what, who bluffs, etc. It's all a matter of counting cards, knowing outs, and doing simple math. Just something I run in the background a lot of the time (like now).
