More Fun with Numbers

Postby Arlo » Sat Sep 25, 2004 7:44 pm

Stats! Stats! Stats!

One of the many wonderful things about being a baseball fan is the seemingly endless number of statistics for us to pore over. From Barry Bonds to Shawn Estes, here are a few that caught my eye.

Enjoy! :-)

But They’re a Force in Oakland
The Athletics are the only division leader with a losing record on the road (39-40). All others are at least eight games over .500.

Just recently swept them at The Ballpark in Arlington! ;-D

*Yes, I know it's Ameriquest Field now, but I don't like the name*.

Numbers are fun :-) . Good read Arlo. ;-D

No team has hit fewer home runs at home this year than the Kansas City Royals, who have knocked just 52 balls into the Kauffman Stadium seats.

This one really stands out, I guess they dont have to hit balls that far if no one sits there. ;-)

Moving Fences In

Postby mitchb13 » Tue Oct 05, 2004 12:00 am

See, it doesn't matter either way, because if they move the fences in their opponents will smash more HR's against them. :)

They aren't a power driven team anymore. Beltran is gone. It would do them justice to keep the fences back as far as they can to give them a chance.

Let's talk about moving the fences in in San Diego. That place is unbelievable. I have Khalil Greene as a keeper, but his power numbers will remain low if the myth of that ballpark holds true.

Then again, it benefits Jake Peavy.
