B.J. Ryan will be given some opportunities to close games in Baltimore going forward. Although Orioles' manager Lee Mazzilli has had enough of Jorge Julio's inconsistencies in the late innings, he did indicate that matchups will dictate who will close games from here on in. Ryan is an excellent reliever who has really never been given a prolonged chance to be a closer. It will be interesting to see if the left-hander can handle the role. I'm desperate. Very tight saves race and every bit helps.
But, I was coming to post on a different surprise guy. Somehow, Manny Batista has quietly gotten 3 saves in the past week! Together, these two could do some real damage if the chips fall right. Thanks.
In any good 12-team or so league, Ryan was probably long taken. A reliever who can post a triple digit strikeout value and post very good ERA and WHIP is valuable in any league. I've had him for at least a couple of months in a few leagues and the possibility of even a couple of saves is awesome.

You mean Miguel Batista? He's the closer in Toronto now. They decided to give him a shot to see how he would do. There was a thread about it around 5 days ago or so.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

I found the thread. It's from Saturday, but here you go:

Thanks, Mad.
Of course its Miguel Batista. Manny Batista is on my son's Pop Warner football team. He won't be getting many saves. A few sacks, hopefully.
Completely blew by that thread. Thanks for the link. Guess I focused on the title. 'dump speiers' was something I'd already done long ago and seemed obvious.
I seem to be having a hard time dividing my time between cafes...It really isn't fair for the fantasy baseball and football seasons to overlap

No problem at all Chopper!
Here's to little Manny getting a few sacks to help your son's team.
