Hey guys! Yes, I know tis is the wrong place for it, but I'm taking CP90's lead and asking for help w/ women.
My school's homecoming dance is 23-24 days away (don't know if it's a Friday or Saturday) and I need a date. There is a girl I have begun to target, but after this, I usually discover my luckk w/ girls is like the Red Sox: I never win.
I know I'm supposed to go up and talk to her and yada yada yada. Problem is, I see her for 1 class a day and I don't really know her. For a conversation starter, I may be one of the only people to know she's on Varsity Volleyball (underrated sport at my high school) since I write the school sports paper, so I could start off w/ that.
So, if you guys know any "expert tips" on how to get an unknown girl to at least say "OK" when you ask her to the dance, it would be appreciated.
If she's only in one of your classes, tell her you need some help in that class, which gives you a legitimate reason to ask for her number without making it obvious you wanna ask her out. Then as she's helping you, just make small talk with her. You say she plays volleyball, so ask her about it, what position(VOLLEYBALL!!!) she plays, etc.

No doubt, one of the best ways to get in a girl's good graces is to ask her what her favorite position is.
Volleyball seems like the opening...use that as the icebreaker and then elaborate into details and stuff. Make a few flirtatious advances so that she knows that you're interested and has a bit of time to comprehend that...and then ask her out after a few days or week or whatever...
BTW, what year are you in?
Or you can take Rico's advice. It seems much easier.

I have a similar problem, but in a completely diffrent way.
The only girl I want to go out with is one of my best friends! If I asked her to homecoming she'd probobly break down laughing and wouldn't give me a straight answer. I love our friendship and if I asked her and she said no it would get really wierd and the friendship might be ruined forever, any advice?
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!
