Sep 22 Second baseman Alfonso Soriano, out since September 16 with a left hamstring injury, told the Dallas Morning News that he does not expect to return in the regular season. The Rangers said recently that he will not be placed on the 60-day disabled list, in case they miraculously make a playoff run. Because rosters have been expanded, there is no need to place him on the 15-day list.
Views: Soriano had recently expressed optimism about playing again after an evaluation by Dr. Lewis Yocum, but the Rangers apparently would need to qualify for the postseason if he has any shot of seeing the field this season. It appears that fantasy owners who do not play in keeper leagues can safely drop Soriano.

Fortunately, Soriano's been removed from Yahoo's 'Can't Cut' list.
Blessed are the cheesemakers.
