Yep, he and Slocumb are probably the only ones you could compare to what Cordero is doing simply because of the era they are pitching in. Not sure if Cordero will get enough innings to pass Slocumb or not, but either way its an impressive feat.
ESPN wrote:With Vladimir Guerrero leading off first base, Francisco Cordero threw a fastball over the outside part of the plate, Pride extended his arms, and smashed a double to the base of the center field wall. Guerrero scored the tying run with a slide, silencing the Texas crowd, and two innings later, Troy Glaus ended a 10-pitch at-bat by crushing a two-run homer off Cordero -- the first homer allowed by the Rangers' closer.
Sorry, Cordero. We were all rooting for you.
Still, he's been unbelievable this year, hasn't he?

That's pretty naive - there are millions of people who follow baseball but don't post in the Cafe. To say that when someone posts in the Cafe, the streak ends, is just ridiculous. There is always someone who mentions something about a no-hitter in a game before you do, and before anything gets posted in the Cafe.
Atmosphere: This is not a flame, it's more of a "see the big picture" post. I have to tell myself this too sometimes, when a friend says something about a shutout when watching a hockey game, and then a goal is scored. It wasn't his call, since someone else somewhere else mentioned it first.
