Amazing, he only has 3 home runs since July 27th. What a bum. I traded for him July 12th and I can't tell you how dissapointing he has been. His BA hasn't been that bad but what a complete fade he has pulled since the beginning of the year. HE'S A BUM I TELL YA!
Yeah he teased us at the start of the year, but overall, he's still doing well. Not as well lately, but overall, I'm happy. I'd be pissed if I traded for him when you did though

It's not the AS break. It's August. Last year he missed September, so it comes across that he's a first half player due to his overall lack of production after the AS break, but September he has an 813 OPS - not that bad, compared to his .694 OPS in August. Sure his best month is usually April, but all other months are usually at the same output, except for 2002 when he had a horrible August. This August was like that too but now in September he's back to being more like himself.
I don't know what it is about August, but it just kills him. Every other month seems to be fine....... I'll know for next year taht if I have another option, I'll use it. And according to Murphy's Law, and the law of averages, that will be the year that he evens out his lopsided monthly splits

I avoided him this year since I thought he would be overrated because of last year. 3B is/was awfully deep going into the year anyway, so I grabbed Tex, Mueller, Miguel Cabrera this year. Losing Pudge from the lineup wasn't going to help Lowell any this year either.

Also, Lo Duca should NOT be batting 3rd. Lowell's production would be a lot better if he was batting cleanup like he should be. Lo Duca's OBA is worse than M-Cab's and Lowell's, and his slugging is pretty good. 3rd is not a good spot.......... let the mashers with better OBA's bat 3rd and 4th. Lo Duca should be 5th at the most. And this isn't just from a disgruntled Lowell owner, it makes sense. Doesn't it?

You made a rookie mistake here . As mentioned previously, Lowell is one of the more notorious second half slumpers.
