Well I think we all could admit we try to screw over newbies with trades of our own..but check out the trade offered to me yesterday.
Carlos Perez (catcher), and an injured Derek jeter
for Irod and Todd Helton.
Lol now this one just made me sick to my stomach....really
wow, i thought when I was offered Mcgriff for Jeter when he was healthy that that was b ad, but some of these are terrible, lol. Pettite, jose hernandez and larry walker for Maddux, (before he sucked) Nomar, and Pat Burrel was also bad
How about me offering Jose Jimenez and Konerko for Foulke and Lackey?
Oh wait, that one was accepted!!!!
You may remember him as Joe the Policeman from the "What's Goin' Down?" episode of That's My Momma! Please welcome, Jackson Heights' own, Mr. Randy Watson! Sexual Chocolate!!!
I don't think that trade was all that stupid if the guy needed more closing help and already had two good 1B. Foulke is a far better closer than Jimenez and Lackey might be a decent sleeper. Not a trade I would have offered, but not really that awful, if he had someone like Olerud on the bench.
I've been offered a lot of cheap deals lately. Where should I start? Someone offered me Carl Crawford, Brad Fullmer and Rafael Furcal for Gary Sheffield Chipper Jones and Omar Vizquel. Then somebody else thought he could get me to trade Pedro Martinez for Javier Vazquez. The best of all was John Garland and Mike Matheny for Freddy Garcia and Mike Lieberthal! Thos guys must hae been dreaming! Ok, I admit I've made some offers that weren't quite fair...But I only offerd them to the guy who dropped Burrell for Crawford and Abreu for Payton. I think somebody who does moves like those, does't diserve a fair offer. I finally traded him Vernon Wells for Brian Giles. My outfield is overloaded now though. I have Chipper Jones, Andruw Jones, Gary Sheffield, Austin Kearns and now Brian Giles. I think I'm gonna have to trade away one of those guys for a decent infielder....
I was talking to a guy in my league before the season started. We were talking trades and stuff, so I offered him Kearns for Alou. He thought I meant Felipe Alou. It took him a few minutes of checking his roster to realize that Felipe retired long before he was born. Good thing we never traded too. Kearns has carried my team in HR's.
