No, he won't be a good source of holds. I'd look for no more than 2 appearances a week.

I'd look for a spot start or two near the season's end to give someone like Woody/Carpenter/Marquis a skip in the rotation for rest.

i concur. it looks like they will continue to use ray king when they need a lefty in the close situations late in the game although they may slowly work ankiel into important situations. tony has said he would like to get him a start but doesnt know when that might happen.

Ankiel is likely of little use this year, with the only upside if he gets to make a few starts.

But he's a good spec grab in a keeper league if available.

Manager Tony La Russa may seek an opportunity to give Rick Ankiel a spot start in the final 20 games.
