tweaking before playoffs

right now i'm in first going into the playoffs, but i feel i still need to tweak my team.

c: v. martinez
1b: j. morneau
2b: a. soriano
ss: arod
3b: v. castilla
of: b. bonds
of: a. jones
of: a. huff
util: posada
b: crawford

sp's: santana, oswalt, beckett, burnett, weaver, sabathia, vazquez
rp's: lidge, dotel, hermanson

i'm considering dropping vazquez and sabathia since both have been awful lately, but i've been doing fine just by benching them and waiting for them to come around.

i'm also thinking about dropping posada, picking up a bat and benching a. jones when crawford comes back.

so i probably want one pitcher and another bat. possible free agents to pick up:

bats: l. walker, d. wright, jt snow, d. erstad, t. glaus, c. monroe, o. hudson
pitchers: m. mussina, n. robertson, s. ponson, b. donnelly, r. lopez, j. lieber


any thoughts? should i stick with my team or make a move?

-Do not drop Sabathia or Vazquez
-Do not drop Posada
- How many teams are in this league??? Mussina available??
- Replace Huff with Crawford when he comes back. A Jones is better in my opinion.
- If you are intent on dropping someone- Hermanson, or Weaver
- If you are that unsure about ur OF i might pick up Larry Walker and drop Weaver or Hermanson. Your batting is fine as it is.
- Vazquez will come around in the playoffs, had a decent outing today only 3 runs.

Well i guess i panicked and dropped vazquez to pick up wagner. yea vazquez had a decent outing, but i did the transaction after the first inning where he gave up 3 runs. oh well. i just have been down on him for the past two months because he hasn't had one dominant outing, just a bunch of average, below average, and awful outings.

also our league counts K's for hitting, so do you still think a.jones is better than huff? and a. jones strikes out a ton.

so i guess i should pick up mussina. not sure who to drop, hermanson or weaver.

If Huff qualifies at 3B in your league (he does in mine), I'd play him at 3B when Castilla is playing away games.

I'd drop Weaver or Sabathia for Mussina.

I'd probably grab Glaus and play him at 3B but only in the Championship week (assuming you're using a Yahoo playoff schedule). Castilla has a nice schedule with most games @COL with a 4-game set @ARI. But then Castilla has a fat 4-game stretch @LA during the Championship game. Glaus plays a 4-game set @TEX at the same time. Then Castilla has the final three @HOU and Glaus the final three @OAK.

I wouldn't have dropped Vazquez. Hopefully he'll clear waivers and you can grab him but I doubt it. I also agree with dropping Weaver and grabbing Mussina.
