AL MVP

There has been a ton of talk about the NL MVP. Who deserves it in the AL? Vlad, Shef, Ortiz, Manny, Tejada, Chavez?

Ummm....

Ortiz over Manny until Manny becomes more personable.

Migi has a solid yet quiet year, as has his team mate Mora!

Chavez? :-t Hasn't played enough. Erubial has carried that team.

Any Yankees winning it? :-° :-t :-° <img src=/forums/images/smiles/kiss.gif>

MVP= David Ortiz

I think it has to be Miggy Tejada. Javy, Gibbons, and Palmeiro haven't lived up to the billing that was supposed to see a pretty productive Baltimore offence this year.

Tejada has really put in a huge season so far.

I couldn't really give it to Manny or Ortiz because neither of them are the most valuable on his team, as the other is almost identical.

And I don't think you can give it to Sheff when there's that other dude in New York :-?

I've got it:
1. Miggy Tejada
2. Co-MVPs Ortiz and Manny

The same can be said about Melvin Mora and Migue Tejada. Mora is having an absolutely spectacular year. Thats while being injured for 1 month I believe?

Pretty much how I got it (right now). Ortiz/Manny chances increase a lot if they win the AL East.

AL MVP is so wide open its impossible to say who'd win it as of now. could make almost equally good cases for Vlad, Sheffield, Ortiz and Manny. o lot will depend on how their teams fare in spetember.

if the voting ended today, i'd have Sheffield and Manny share it.
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.

Why not pull a Kerry and give it to Manny Ortiz?

What a tragedy that I'm the first here to vouch for Ichiro. He's on the cusp of a hitting record and getting no mention? Is this biasness due to the team he's on? He's leading the majors in AVG and you can throw in 31 stolen bases.

Admittedly, this is a very tight race and all the names mentioned are deserving the consideration.

Maybe a good poll to put on the front page, mods?
