How come Chris Carpenter isn't even on the radar? Have u guys noticed the stats? The guy is throwing out of his mind this year, and playing for the Red birds help that much more. The guy has been solid all season. Is there any reason to think he might get a chance for the NL cy young??
Just discussion.. wanna know Opinion, dont get me wrong I think smitty deserves it as much as anyone, but i feel due credit when credit is deserved for someone.
If he weren't in the same league as RJ, Schmidt, and C. Zambrano, he might have a slight chance. But I find it difficult to give one of baseball's most prestigious awards to a guy who very well could be a one-year wonder. Let me see him do this for at least another year, then I'll think he should be considered.
I don't see him in the running this year. Nothing against Carpenter, but the talent is just too good with Schmidt, RJ, Carlos Zambrano, Ollie Perez, Jaret Wright, Sheets, etc. this season.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
not only is the competition too good but hes been lucky too... of course hes pitched well but not as good as people think. you gotta give a lot of props to the Cards defense too.
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.

same i mean how can u put him in front of people like RJ, Schmidt, Perez and Zambrano? you just can't i mean don't get me wrong he is having one of his best years ever but he just doesn't seem to be better than some of the other NL Sp's

Carpenter was pretty highly touted when he played for the Blue Jays, no? I remember the horror that was the Carpenter/Wells trade.

might need to update that CC watch Baseballer
It's become a nightmare to do so. He was one of my darkhorse picks for the Cy Young, and I was almost as off as ZIG was about Santana or Jackal about Loaiza.
