Astacio, also successful but to a lesser degree, BUT 11 of the Mets last 17 series are against teams w/ losing records

I would go with Moyer and here is why....

Since 1996 Moyer has had only 1 season with an ERA over 4.00

1996 was the last time Astacio had an ERA below 4.00


so if the last six years performance is any indication Moyer should keep up the strong performance, especially in a playoff race and Astacio should come back to earth especially since they are not going anywhere.

Well, 1997 was the year that Astacio went to the launching pad in Colorado, so an era well over 4.00 is to be expected.

It's a bit surprising that both pitchers have 11 wins so far, too. Nonetheless, if w and whip are the criteria, Moyer should be the slightly better bet, although both are solid options.

Yea i would go with Moyer as well.He's a really solid pitcher who could help out any team.I really like Moyer.
