Edmonds, the invisible beast

1. Edmonds is a hall of famer when you compare his stats to all the other great CF.

2. Edmonds is among the best defensive CF in today's game.

3. He's streaky, but seems to be hot when it counts like in postseason.

4. He is not that injury prone. He is one of the few OF who has played in 135+ games a year for the past 4 years.

5. His exploits are overshadowed because he plays with Pujols, Rolen, etc.

6. Some hokey background story about the Angels not liking his attitude and how he was a great fit for the Cards.

I know I'm the biggest STL homer in the world, but I've always wondered why he isn't mentioned with the great OF's of the game. Sure he's a little streaky, but for me the great defense and solid arm more than make up for it.

Another HR today!

That's 39 HR and 100 RBIs with one month remaining in the season.

I penciled him in for 90-35-90 before the season started, and I thought that was overly optimistic given his injury history.

Dare I say he's going to go 100-40-100 this year? Go Edmonds!
