Will Prior pitch a solid game this year?

Postby pbeall100281 » Wed Sep 01, 2004 2:23 am

He came close vs. PIT in is return but still no W and only 6 IP. I'm talking AT LEAST 7 IP, 4 H, 0 BB, 7K and 1 ER or better. Any hope?

I'm sure he will, but it was pretty discouraging 2nite in Montreal.

The Cubs really need Wood/Prior to go 8-2/9-1 the rest of the way. I'm starting to get a wee bit worried about the Cubbies this year :-o

If they make the playoffs, I bet he'll be lights out Beckett style just to spite me.

But seriously, he's too good not to have at least one decent outing. Don't expect the Prior of the past until next year, but he's still a good option.

If it were most any other pitcher than Prior, I would have dropped him a long time ago. But with his talent he can turn it on at any moment. And with the playoffs starting next week, I can't afford to drop him.

Worst first round pick ever. Lucky I got 2 first rounders in the next 2 rounds otherwise I wouldn't still be in first (Vlady and Johnson)

But, next year he will be a great 2nd rounder if he doesn't pick it up this year...
