I was under the impression that trades had to be completed by 2PM today in order for a player to qualify for the post season roster. There was talks about the Giants acquiring Estes and Burnitz from Colorado and the A's going after Jeff Kent. No where on rotoworld, ESPN.com or FBC could I find any deals. Did anything happen or I am confused on the deadline?
I was wondering the same thing. I expected at least one or two small trades at least - but nothing? odd...
If a man dwells on the past, then he robs the present.
But if a man ignores the past, he may rob the future.
The seeds of our destiny are nurtured by the roots of our past.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
Yes. Yes. C'mon it's been a long day. Cut me some slack.

Wouldn't that be midnight tonight. Sorry.

How do waiver wire trades work? if a player goes through unclaimed by anyteam then the team can trade him to any team it wishes? but if a team does claim him then that player can't be traded? or does he have to go to the team that claimed him? totally confused over here! help a brotha out
MLB.COM wrote:Waivers: A waiver is a permission granted to a Club that desires to assign or release one of its players. There are basically two types of waivers -- waivers for the assignment of a player and waivers for the unconditional release of a player. In both cases, waivers are granted only after all the other Major League Clubs have been given an opportunity to claim the player and none has done so. With regard to assignment waivers, permission is granted for a specific period of time. With unconditional release waivers, once permission is granted the player is a free agent.
yeah, i know that doesn't help... i didn't read it until I posted it
