Aug 30 Paul C. Smith, of DevilRays.MLB.com, reports Tampa Bay Devil Rays OF Carl Crawford (hip) was held out of the starting lineup Sunday, August 29, with a slight problem with his hip. Crawford is expected to be ready to play in the team's next game Tuesday, August 31.

Slight problem or not, this could really affect his SB.

The worst part about that is the uncertainty. Craw has been unproductive enough to make me bench him a couple times a week lately. I can't drop him, of course, but there are guys who have been putting up better numbers. In a perverted sort of way, I think I'd rather have him go down for the season than spend a lot of time day-to-day.

I like the sound of this even less, from Rotoworld:

Carl Crawford is out tonight with a sore shoulder. He's scheduled for an MRI tomorrow.
Manager Lou Piniella said Crawford would be out for a few days. Since Joey Gathright is still at Durham, the Rays have Damian Rolls playing center field tonight.
