he is in the lineup today.

Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

there's always a chance he'll get scratched right before the first pitch

There are people in my keeper league who still don't think he will go 40/40.

that is absurd. people love to hate on beltran. he may not go 40-40, but realistically, the trends favor those who think he will. he may exceed that. he must have a mssive greenlight and a familiarty with the pitchign or something.

getting rid of Jimmy Williams was the best thing that ever happened to Houston and Beltran. Carlos is stealing a base almost every game now (even with a sore knee, I might add), and the Astros are now within 4 or 5 games of the wildcard.
Beltran will surpass 40-40 easily this year. 4 steals in one month is practically a given. 10 is not out of reach at all. 5 HRs in one month is a definite possibility, and if he stays hot, I could see as many as 12. Honestly, I could see Beltran going 40-45 or even 43-50 this season.
