Chicago may have gotten the big name in Freddy Garcia, but Paul Erlick doesn't think the White Sox came out on top when they dealt Jeremy Reed to Seattle. But no matter which big-league team won, trades like this are a great opportunity for fantasy owners to profit.

An excellent debut piece by Paul! ;-D

On all surfaces the trade seems like it helps both sides, with the Mariners receivinging a terrific prospect in Jeremy Reed

O:-) Sorry, my eyes bugged out on me when I saw that. O:-)

I'm also going to take a wild stab and say this was done by Perlick. Paul Erlick=Perlick? Way too odd a coincidece if it isn't true. Lol. :-D

I do agree about Freddy Garcia. He was offered around in a couple of my leagues after the trade happened. From Safeco to ChiTown? Thanks, but no thanks. I avoided him big time. Sure, actually getting some run support is/would have been nice, but not at the era/whip cost. B-)

Good read. I'm unfamiliar with Jeremy Reed, so I guess I've got some studying to do. ;-)

You have a very easy to read writing style. When you write in a conversational style you have to be careful to make sure that your article is not only interesting but also has all of the salient facts. For instance, I thought that Reed was an outfielder but with the comparisons to Mauer I began to doubt myself and had to check whether he was a catcher. Nonetheless, you are obviously skilled as a writer.

As for the content, you may not want to use Olerud as an example of the M's loyalty to their players :-b . You should also tell us why Garcia sucks.

I have got no idea what to make of Garcia. He could be brilliant or terrible and it all depends on his desire. He has the skill but not the discipline. If he got it in his mind to stay in shape and train, the guy could be great, but he could go from looking like the Rock to looking like Bam Bam Bigelow over the offseason.

Nice read ;-D
