im disappointed because he was my first round pick, #5 overall. i expected more from him. sure i thought steals would go down, but i thought rbi would be way up. he's a good player, but certainly not a stud.

Juan Uribe, Ryan Freel, Tony Womack, Jose Vidro, Bret Boone, Luis Castillo, D'Angelo Jimenez, Ron Belliard, Mark Bellhorn, Jeff Kent, Brian Roberts, Michael Young and Mark Loretta have all been solid options at 2b, and many of them could have come at a garage sale discount. So, Soriano's boosted value do to position scarcity only really shines in AL-only leagues.
I didn't check any numbers, but that name sticks out like a sore thumb. Boone's having a terrible year.
Boone is having a poor year in comparison to his previous seasons, but he is still a decent option that makes second base deeper regardless of what his draft day price was.
The Seattle second baseman has seen his steepest decline in the BA category this season, a popular reason for many people being especially down on him.
Still, Boone could end up being a 15/15 man, definately making him a deepening force in the second base pool.
It isn't over until it's over. He was a MONSTER in September last year. Even if he fizzes there, he's still the best 2B, despite the better than anticipated competition.
That is the point I was trying to convey, he is like Carlos Lee, so streaky that you can't really make an fully accurate assessment until 162 games have been played. Guys like that are extremely frusturating, anyone that is prone to impulse transactions based on production over a few weeks or a few months should never draft these types of guys, because they almost always end up giving them away for pennies on the dollar in a fit of pique.
He'll kill you some weeks for sure in h2h league but for roto where you have to consider the whole year he's quite valuable. Only Loretta has done a better job overall at 2B.

You also predicted that Johan Santana would not live up to the hype
Umm...I don't really get why people keep bringing that up. You have your good predictions and bad ones. I try to make really bold predictions at the start of the season (for each sport) so it makes it intresting. Anyone can say Jose Hernandez will not hit .300 and then be happy they were right, I make predictions that are actually intresting.
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!
