Postby eftda » Wed Aug 18, 2004 12:39 pm

I was to register for classes this morning 5am pst and they changed the date when I went online. Its now tomorrow at 11:30. All the classes I was going to take are full and when I went into the Office, the said "Sorry, because your taking the into to DeAnza class this week, your time and date was changed". GRRRRR Oh well 54 1/2 units till I transfer. :-t

I actually have never heard of this DeAnza college. where is it?

The problem i am having is that I move into my new apt. in Philly (near the art museum where the rocky statue used to be) but I have yet to buy a bed or anything like that for my room. Guess I better get started.

Shouldn't this go in the Venting forum?? :-D Seriously, I feel your pain but welcome to college life. Doing your schedule sucks. I have yet to find a school that makes it easy and painless. This will seem like nothing when you are done. :-°

I move back on the 11th......... lucky day :-o

Our school lets us pick our schedule a year in advance and we pick the time and day of every class. Last year I had nothing before 11 AM and no class on Mon/Fri. Yes that's right, 4 day weekends and no class until noon. And this is one of the top academic Universities in Canada, too. And our campus was ranked #1 in the country I believe.

I did get a 14 in Financial Accounting though :-? I guess I must have made it a 5 day weekend by mistake.

DeAnza is in the Bay Area in a city named Cupertino. It's very close to San Jose, and about 45 minutes south of SF (assuming you drive the speed limit).

Sound like you got it nice Jackal. I go to U of C and it sucks. Our president has emphasized research too much and as an undergrad student, that make the University worse. Good teacher get fired, and new grad students take their place :-P I wish I could go to another University, but I don't have the money and i'm going into my last year........... :-t

I think most students at Universities/Colleges get screwed with scheduling. It's pretty tough to organize it to fit everyone, and if you're in a popular subjet/major, you're bound to get screwed.

I registered for my Freshman classes this year at Johns Hopkins. I'm going into Engineering, so I my schedule is more packed than others', but I must say that I am happy with it: classes start at 10, except Tuesday at 8 :-P , and end by 2pm MTW, and at like 12 on Thurs and Friday. Only exception is a 6-9pm Physics Lab on Wednesday night :-o. Move in day is August 28th, so I still have some time before then left :-°

Nope, not U of T, U of G. The Guelph Gryphons ;-D I have a few friends at U of T and they like my campus a lot more. My good friend just dropped out from the U of Manitoba and now he's probly gonna be living in my livingroom in Guelph for all the weekends. Free pool (billiards, not swimming) in the town hall, 30 seconds from my townhouse? Come on, how could anybody pass that up.

And the way we pick our schedules, the more popular the major, the luckier you are, since you can take all your classes pretty much any time you want. They usually run multiple times per day.
