Your once great bullpen gets shallower and shallower. You dont have anyone to get to Gagne, and thats going to hurt the Dodgers. Plus they always find a way to screw up at the end of the season.

Say what you will, but it's still the strongest bullpen in the majors. Aside from Dreifort (who was terrible to begin with), we've got Carrera, Brazoban, Sanchez not to mention Jackson/Alvarez when he comes off the DL.

Oh yeah, and there's that Gagne character. He's not bad.

The Dodgers will be fine. Especially now that we don't have Dreifort f*cking things up in the 8th every night. I mean it could be worse, they could be 15 games out of first. Instead, they have the 3rd best record in the big leagues.

Carrara is pitching tonight. It could be Brazoban too. I don't think Sanchez will become a set-up man. I'll bet Jackson is put into the set-up role when he comes off the DL, but for now it looks like Carrara or Brazoban in the short term.

respectfully disagree. I dont think the bullpen is the strongest in the majors, but it should hold its own just fine with sanchez, carrara, and most importantly BRAZOBAN, the cafe's sleeper o' the week. They should be ok, and like others have said Dreifort wasn't getting the job done anyway so what are they really losing here? Depodesta knew what he was doing here because even though losing Mota hurts, he knew he had enough depth to cover it.

Giovanni Carrara has an ERA of 1.00
Yhency Brazoban has an ERA of 1.50
Eric Gagne has an ERA of 1.55

Take your pick of Alvarez or Jackson, they're both studs. Duaner Sanchez is a legitimate middle relief pitcher. The only gripe against the Los Angeles bullpen is the lack of a legitimate left-handed arm. It's still the strongest pen in the National League. And no, I'm not on crack. Who's better?
