nomo is on the way back and he could stick this time:

Hideo Nomo went three solid innings in his first rehab start for Triple-A Las Vegas yesterday.
He had a bit of a rough first inning, but Nomo gave up just one run on four hits while striking out five and walking none. If Nomo can go five strong innings in his next start, he could join the Dodgers after that. Aug. 17 - 8:40 am et

i have picked up wilson alverez to replace millwood. will he stay in the rotation or will he get sent back to the pen when and if nomo comes back for good?

IF, and that's a HUGE if, Nomo comes back strong and Penny returns before the end of the regular season, Alvarez will be demoted to the pen. I think Jim Tracy would like to see Alvarez and Jackson pitch out of the bullpen during the playoffs, but we'll see how it works out. Ishii will be the first to go out of the current rotation, then Alvarez.

I'm holding on to Nomo in my DL spot, not expecting anything. If I get any sort of success out of him, I'll consider it a bonus.
