September Callups

Postby NYMetsGM » Mon Aug 16, 2004 7:14 pm

Who are some must have Callups that have no Major league AB's and will have a big impact next season. The way my league works is in the offseason we can pick up any minor league player but in the regular season we have to wait until a player has aleast 1 AB in a major league game before we can claim him and with September coming there should be a few I was hoping you guys could give me some names. Thanks

For pitching you could get Jeff Francis but anyway for hitters i would say Clint Barmes he would be a good option or possibly koyie hill cathcer for the dodgers

Koyie Hill was traded to the D-backs and is already on the Major League roster, there's already a thread about September callups here http://www.fantasybaseballcafe.com/foru ... hp?t=83972

Matt Cain
Jesse Foppert
Rick Ankiel
Calvin Pickering
Ryan Howard
Fausto Carmona
Joe Blanton

Cain has great numbers like Francis, but not getting much press for some reason. I think he could wind up a much better option since their home parks are like night and day

I thought Ankiel had some type of clause in his contract that he had to be up sometime this year, although I could be completely wrong.

Actually Ankiel HAS to be called up this year, he will run out of minor league options...thus he will have to be on the Cards major league roster. Don't expect much, but he should pitch a few innings as a RP.
