I know there is around 50 games left, but they are 6 out in the East and 3.5 out in the WC with 3 teams ahead of them. Wagner's hurt, Burell and Millwood are done, and Bowa is still the manager. All that talent and they are only 3 games over .500.

I lived in Philadelphia for 7 years and can only imagine the fans' wrath.
Anyone else surprised Bowa is still around? I thought they would have pulled the trigger two weeks ago when they announced he was on the hot seat.
The starting pitching is horrible, the lineup strikes out too much, and they strike no fear in anyone besides the 3 and 4 hole. Walk Abreu and Thome and K the rest.
I'd be very surprised if they challenge the Braves at all the rest of the way. They might get back into the WC for a bit, but the Cubs are too strong. After all the BS that happened last season, Bowa should have been gone then. Too bad for them I guess.
The Phillies are done and that's a fact. They are not going to win the NL East as they would have to hope the Braves play .500 baseball the rest of the season and they could play at around a .667 clip to win the division, not gonna happen, and Philly hopefuls who think they can win the WC...HA! Every game but around 2-4 they play in September will be against the NL East, against which they are 21-30. Couldn't of happened to a more deserving fan base.
Yah Philly is done, but what really surprised me is Houston. All that talent and the addition of Beltran led to nothing but a record hovering around .500.
As for teams that are a lock to win their division:
Braves
STL

Philly is 3.5 games behind the wild card and 6 behind the Braves and they have 6 games left with the Braves.
Don't give the Braves the division yet. They are currently overachieving and one cold spell away from disaster.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
