If my pitchers were to pitch perfect innings for the remaining 392, I'd get my era down to 3.47 (good enough for roughly fourth place there) and my whip would collaps to a microscopic 0.92 (obviously good enough for first).
Anyone think this is possible?
do you have any "what if" scenarios for the rest of the season?
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

lol. no if you think you can pull 392 perfect, let me know what youre using.
jk.
anyways, without knowing your pitching staff, i predict your final era will end up like 4.87. does that move ya up any places ? lol.
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.
Well, the good news is you're still in good shape as far as your IP limit goes, the bad news is I don't think the horses you have on your staff are going to take you to the promised land ! At this stage of the season, I would suggest a radical overhaul of your roster... I don't know how active your league is, but I would start throwing out some trades and se if you can get something done before the 8/15
yahoo deadline. Try and move Piazza for sure, he has stunk up the joint and isn't doing you any favors in your util spot. Maybe you could sucker Tstep into a trade, Ichiro, Mora and Perez for Arod
Durham and Sosa, That way you're getting SB/AVG/ERA/K's
for your big name players, I think you're probably better off picking up points in those categories where you are middle of the pack, but it is much easier to catch up on those categories than in ERA/WHIP. As far as your pitching goes, I would pick up some rock-star MR guys, ie Donnelley/ Ayala they are both doing excellent in ratios and have been vulturing some wins as of late. Also even though you're doing well in IP start being super-selective when it comes to your starts ie Contreras against any team from the AL East. I'm in the same boat as you in a couple of my leagues and its making the difference between 3rd and first right now. I've been using this strategy since just after the break and have risen from
1pt in both whip/era to 3 in ERA and 2.5 in Whip...
hope this helps ya!
