Julio Lugo or Jose Vidro

Postby Madbomber » Tue Aug 10, 2004 2:03 am

I have Vidro as a backup 2nd baseman to spell Nomar and M Young. I realised that Lugo will have SS/2B eligibility in 12 games provided he continues to play second.

Who will be better down the stretch???????

Vidro. I got nothing but gut backing it up, but go with the guy that doesn't beat his wife. Vidro.

I vote Lugo he will have two spot eligibility, and he is more durable than Vidro.

I don't care what he does with his wife.......... Lugo has been en fuego this year. If both players had 2B eligibility, I'd take Lugo in a heartbeat. Near the top of that TB lineup he's doing some damage.

That is a close one....but now that Vidro has lost any help he had...(Cabrera, if you want to call it help)...I would have to go with Lugo...he has been solid most of the year... :-)

Vidro, and it's not even close.

(Unless you happen to be hard up for steals)

i would take lugo with a better supporting cast behind him then vidro has

look at lugos numbers 56 runs scored, 6 hrs, 55 rbis, 15 sbs, and a 340 OBP

compare to vidros 45 runs scored, 12 hrs, 50 rbis, 2 sbs, and a 362 OBP

pretty comparable but the extra support behind lugo might help him a little down the stretch.....

Lugo has 13 more R, 7 more RBI, 12 more SB's, a similar BA, and 5 less HR's.

I think it's obvious that 12 SB's, 13 R, 7 RBI are more valuable than 5 HR's, so how in the world can you say it's not even close and Vidro is better 8-o Not saying Vidro can't be better, but what the hell was your reasoning? Just cuz Lugo has way more SB's it means you only take Lugo if you want SB's? So if somebody takes A-Rod over Lowell, they only want A-Rod because they're hard-up for steals? Using your logic, I guess so.

If this is a landslide, it's in favour of Lugo, who is also now at the top of the batting order where he is tearing it up.

On fire? Lugo's batted .244 since the All-Star break. However, because of his soon-to-be positional flexibility and Vidro's propensity to get hurt, I'll go with Lugo.
