Why isn't Drew playing?

Postby ramble2 » Sun Aug 08, 2004 6:58 pm

I had to work this weekend, and noticed today that Drew was out of ATL's lineup. This didn't worry me until I noticed that he was also replaced in last night's game.

Forgive the panic, but I literally just traded for this guy (got him on Saturday). Given his injury history, and Murphy's law, I'm a little concerned about him being taken out of a game the day I get him, then missing the next game. I've looked around on the web, searched this site, and still haven't been able to figure out what's going on.

So, anyone know what's going on? :-o

He had a sore wrist earlier in the week, I don't know if that had anything to do with it. None of the sites have anything about an injury.

I'm guessing they're just resting his sore wrist.

With most players I wouldn't be so concerned, but you never know when Drew is gonna suffer an injury that could send him to the DL.

My take is that it has more to do with giving Eli PT than a problem
Drew has. Cox will give Eli, N Young, Thomas and Methusala PT
to keep them sharp. Add DeRosa to the mix and Drew, Giles,
Chipper and Furcal will miss an occasional start-about one a week.
Don't try to figure Cox out, he will drive you nuts. All I can say
is check the starting lineups on CBSsportsline before the game.
