Rotoworld is predicting that Renteria may be moved down in the revamped Cards lineup.
==================
Larry Walker made his Cardinals debut as a pinch-hitter today and stayed in the game in right field.
Walker is expected to start and bat either second or fourth tomorrow. Second would make more sense, as there's no reason to move either Scott Rolen or Jim Edmonds down. If Walker bats second, Edgar Renteria would hit sixth or seventh. Aug. 7 - 5:30 pm et

I'm thinking now may be the time to ship Renteria as he's been the subject of many offers (my way) this year if I can get current value for him.
Really....in that lineup, it doesn't make much difference. Sure, he won't have the protection of Pujols, but he hasn't been hitting well this year anyway. I doubt Renteria's #'s change much.
Also, I don't have any numbers to back this up, but I remember hearing somewhere that Renteria hits better when he's batting lower in the lineup...

While he may lose the protection of Pujols, Renteria should get more RBI opportunities batting 6th or 7th, particularly if the higher BA stats hold up.

You would think so, but when Renteria was hitting down in the lineup earlier this year, he wasn't taking advantage of the RBI opportunities (and in addition, Rolen had already driven in the runners in scoring position by the time Renteria got up...)
