Damn Santana...

Postby jumpman8288 » Fri Aug 06, 2004 11:45 pm

Christ, I knew he's been doing awesome lately, but I just looked at the numbers from the last month on MLB.com, and damn, he's *bleeping* insane!!

Check this out: He's letting up an average of 2.43 hits per 9 innings. Think about that for a second, that's like pitching a 2 or 3 hitter every time you pitch...for a month! What's even more amazing is that the next lowest hits per 9 innings, belonging to Ted Lilly, is 5.01. Look at the difference between them!! Rounding out the top ten in H/9IP is Harden, with 6.92.

Now, let's look at his BAA. For the past month, hitters are hitting .085 against him. That is freakin' amazing!! The next lowest, also belonging to Ted Lilly, is .161, which in itself would be awesome if Santana didn't have a BAA of almost have that. Number ten on this list is also Harden, with a .213 BAA.

Then look at his OBA, .188. Opponents are only getting on base against him 18.8% of the time!! The next lowest percentage (again, Ted Lilly) is .246, 24.6% of the time! Randy Johnson is number ten on this list, with a .271 OBA.

Now, I know everyone knew he's been doing great, but I just thought I'd share the numbers with everyone else, as they simply astound me.

The posts you continue to make don't even piss people off anymore, it only makes you look more and more like a giant fool. And how sad of a life to live to just waste your time at the café message board contributing worthless babble. You, my friend, are indeed the epitome of lame.

Uh, that's 5 words.

.................

I wish I could watch Santana pitch but I don't have the MLB package and I'm usually working during the games. Anyone out there watch him? Is he really nasty like Ollie or does he just fool the heck out of hitters?

Some pitchers are deceptive while others blow them away with the heater. I saw some highlights of Ollie and he has nasty heat.
What's your take on Johan? Heat or deception or maybe a little of both?

I'm as big as a Johan supporter as anbody (being that he is on my team :-D) but is anyone concerned if he will hit some sort of wall soon? He's never pitched more than 160 innings in his career and he's about to cross that plateau very soon...I sure hope he stays hot :-o
