Somebody finally posts in this thread, after almost a month, but no replies to my question yet:

I have a fast connection at school but we have an ingoing/outgoing bandwidth limit and I don't wanna exceed it or I lose my internet for a week. So I'm not sure how that's gonna work........... anybody know specifics on how many MB's it uses on average? It would suck if I paid for Live and then couldn't use it. I still have the free trial that came with the XBox though.
So, does anybody have an idea about that kinda stuff?
i was curious myself about the bandwidth usage of an online game. i don't live in res, so i don't have the same problem as you do with bandwidth usage, but this is what i found out so far...
i have a PS2, but i'm guessing it would be about the same for XBOX. my brother and i share the same internet connection and we use a router fo it. usually if i'm downloading a file from the internet, the max speed i get is no higher than 350 kbps. so, my newbie theory says that the game should use a lower speed than 350 kbps at my place. i'm able to play madden online with no problems. the other day my brother was playing a game online and i was playing PS2 online and there was also no problems, so my guess is that an online game might need about 170 kbps.
i was reading in the playstation forum and one guy said that his download bandwidth for socom was 3421 kbps and the upload was 301. another guy said that his download bandwidth was at 800 while the upload was 130...
i don't really know about this kind of stuff, but i hope this helps you somehow
