The fact that they're platooning Wilson--a guy who was far and away the Rockies 2nd best player last year--is, well
You'd be crazy NOT to infer from that he's either not 100% or for some other reason the Rockies' just don't think he can be the player he was last year at this point in 2004
Bluto: Over? Did you say over? NOTHING is over until WE decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? HELL, NO!
Otter: Germans?
Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.
well, i dunno any specifics about thsi situation but isnt he routinely supposed to sit out once in a while just to rest his "surgically repaired" knee ????
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.
Dont look into this too much. Colorado has too many outfielders, that is the problem. Preston Wilson left the game yesterday after going 0-3 and leaving several on base (and I believe Colorado was loosing at the time as well). They then brought in Larry Walker, not a bad replacement. So that makes Preston Wilson 0 for his last 9, in need of a day off since he has played quite a few in a row coming back from his injury.
True, since he is not playing every day could be a sign that he is not 100%.... But, this really is a case of a platoon. Also, Wilson has 2 SB over the past 5 games, meaning he is feeling good enough run.
The Rockies want to get Holliday some playing time, as he is a key to their future. This will continue throughout the season as Colorado will be out any race.

i play college soccer and i've had two knee surgeries. the rule of thumb is that your second year following the surgery is when you'll be back to normal, physically and subconsciously. It only makes sense that they'd be easing wilson back into it considering that holliday played pretty well in his absence.
"24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not."
Does anyone think he will do much the rest of this year or should I try and trade him?
