When is Hudson coming back?

Postby Yankeefan8656 » Wed Aug 04, 2004 4:59 pm

I know that they pulled him from his start against the Yankees on Thursday. Is he starting against Min on Friday? Thanks.

Hudson's return was pushed back a couple of days because he wasn't as effective as hoped in his rehab start. Barry Zito will start Thursday.

Thank god.

Now, maybe my preseason 1-2 punch of Prior/Hudson can get back on track...

I hear ya!!!!

My 3rd starter is Peavy, and he missed what seemed like an eternity too.....

pretty sad when Chris Carpenter is your most reliable starter....

How did he do in his rehabs? And would you sit him against the Twinkies since it is his first start?

Yeah, bad luck > me this season.

I had Prior Hudson and Wagner as my first three pitching picks. Can you say ouch? Then I took Webb... not realizing that Arizona would cease to hit ANYTHING this year. Webb has allowed 3 or fewer (mostly fewer) ER in 18 of his 23 starts this year... and he somehow has a record of 4-12 ?!?! :~(

I wouldn't say Webb's biggest problem is run support. ;-7 (I drafted him, too :-[ )

His one rehab start wasn't so great. Control problems apparently (from SportingNews):

Hudson allowed two earned runs and two hits in three innings for Triple-A Sacramento in a rehab start Saturday night against Oklahoma. Hudson, pitching for the first time since losing to Anaheim on June 22, was placed on the disabled list June 27 because of a strained left oblique muscle. "My hip felt good," said Hudson, expected to start against the New York Yankees on Thursday. "My command was a little shaky, but it's been a while since a real hitter has been in there. Any time you've been out like that, you're command is going to be off."

I'm thinking about sitting him on Saturday (but I'll have to see how I'm doing in H2H league. If I need the extra start, he might start).

Good luck.

I think he's going up against Johan Santana on Saturday, so I'd sit him in that case. I have both and don't have the option of sitting Hudson, but if I could, I would.
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'

You're right -- he's going up against Santana. I can't see starting him now.
