at this stage of the game, how much can yoiu really move your batting average?
I have a two in that cat with a .272 average, the guy with a one has a .269. Since I am one point from first place, should I aim to keep my 2 points in avg, then get someone like cameron who can probably move me a point in steals and maybe get me the 11th point in rbi and runs?
my points break down is: 10,11,10,9,2 in hitting : 6.5, 7,9,3,5 in pitching
runs, rbi I can do on my own (I think), wins are close, k's I can handle, saves can't move.
Basically, can a mike cameron type really hurt my average that bad? I think playing him and sitting chipper or tike redman might be fruitful. or is it easier to move era and whip? basically I only have steals, era, whip and wins to count on points gains.
Or trade a strength to another team that will allow them pass the leader up, getting you closer without making a hasty trade. I don't think that is collusion as long as the trade is fair. those deals sometimes work best because you can always pick the cat that the leader is most weak at example HR or RUNS
ok. I am really not looking for specific trade advice, so sorry if it comes off that way. more or less looking for how hard/easy it is to move avg, era and whip.
we play 4 of, util, ci, mi in addition to regular, 11 teams)
schilling, mulder, c. zambrano, benson, arroyo, radke.
sheilds, torres, linebrink (ply them in lieu of the last starter, their cumulative stats are better -- so I sit arroyo and benson unless the matchup is SWEET)
wickman, f. and c. cordero
as it stands I have a 2 in avg (.271, the guy behind me has .269)
I have a 3 in era, (I have a 4.18, then the order is: 4.14, 4.10, 3.97, 3.92)
and a four in whip: (1.32 for me, 1.31,1.31, 1.25, 1.24)
I am thinking two points in era and whip is the most I can hope for. wins, k's are up for grabs, and i am really strong there.
so other than era, whip, stolen bases and avg, I don't have many cats to move up in, almost maxed.
what is the best course of action? forget average and focus on era, whip and sb's? but are the sb's of a basestealer worth sitting chipper or floyd for?
I really don't know how hard or easy it is to move average either way at this poitn.
