Both are reportedly close to coming back this weekend and both might be fighting for some playing time even though they will most likely get the majority of games at their positions. From here on out who do you expect to perform the best this season?

I think Kearns has more potential and more talent, but the guy's been falling well short of potential for a couple years now. Plus Gibbons will have an easier time getting back in the lineup, I think. I'd go with Gibbons for now, unless Kearns REALLY shows something.

I like Kearns over Gibbons also. I'm dropping Jacque Jones when Kearns comes off the DL and I'm hoping he does well.
On a related note: Are we all idiots? Giving Kearns another chance? The guy's done nothing but disappointing all year but we still think he can do something. We must be "glass-is-half-full" people.
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'

I like Kearns as he has showed in the past that he can go off and go off hard core, I will try to be around for the chance that happens in my fantasy playoffs. If it doesn't happen, oh well, it was a good risk

Well if you have an expendable roster spot, I would take Kearns over Gibbons, but to me both of them are useless, at least this year. Gibbons is far from a solid fantasy producer, and Kearns has the potential but is an injury risk. Not to mention he has been plain horrible this year. I am usually a guy to stick with guys for a while, but after a few months of frustration I had it with Kearns.
