Anyone else done with Piazza?

Postby Dodger Blue » Tue Aug 03, 2004 11:22 pm

He month long slump is getting old. I picked up Estrada several weeks ago. Think Piazza is safe to trade and just start Estrada?

Anyone else expendable? I'm in the same situation. Picked up Estrada and I finally had the heart to bench Piazza last week. I am in no way thinking about dropping him though, he's just too good to drop.

Maybe if the trade was right I'd do it. Something tells me, if I did it though, he would go on a month long tear, which he is capable of doing.

My trading deadline is August 15 so I gotta do something soon.

Unless you think Piazza is done this would probably be the wrong time to trade because he will most likely counter this slump with an extremely hot tear through the fantasy home stretch.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Oddly enough I did the EXACT same thing, benched Piazza for a few games and picked up Estrada as he began to hit.

I have to agree with Amazinz that if you have the patience I think you'll be happy you kept Piazza.

He's too good to trade or drop. If you have the roster space and a decent backup C I'd say wait him out. ;-D

Go figure, he actually got a hit in the last two games.

I think that you have to hold onto him and wait for him to get hot again
