Renteria vs Furcal & Stewart vs Acevedo

Postby Dark Treb » Thu Jul 25, 2002 11:33 am

Renteria has been putting up good numbers, and Furcal's main value is as a basestealer, but Renteria is only 3 behind. Still, I think Furcal has more potential as a basestealer, has scored about 20 more runs than Renteria, but has 11 less RBIs. Who would you take?

Stewart vs Acevedo. Is Acevedo still the closer? I can't seem to find any news on him, and Stewart's hold on his closer job is shaky. Once again, who would you take?

Furcal

Your pretty lucky if those 2 shortstops are on your FA. Take Furcal. Him hitting in front of a very hot Sheffield and Andruw Jones is a plus.

Thanks, I've had Furcal all year, he just seems to have 0-5 days a little too much, but he's definitely been solid.

Another question: How would you rate Vina among 2nd basemen out there?

Renteria,Furcal,Stewart,Acavedo....

Furcal over Renteria.Definately.Furcal isn't having a season like his of 2000,but he's puting together a solid campaign.

Stewert is sharing save opportunities with T.J. Tucker for the Expos. But suddenly he is blowing save opportunites.Watch him for a bit and if he doesn't pull it together,he will be without a job and Tucker will be the closer.

Acevedo has blown 4 saves throughout the season.Which hurts. But he is a quality closer and SHOULD keep his job the rest of the season and get 20+ saves.
