Well, with Patterson who seems to be improving and batting leadoff, and then Nomar in the two hole, I think this really is going to give a nice surge to the offense, mainly Sosa, Alou, Ramirez and Lee. If Patterson can go to a typical leadoff hitter who will bat .300 (closing in on that number) and steal 25-30 batter, and then Nomar will get on base, a lot of the solo home runs the Cubs have been hitting will start turning into 2 or 3 run shots. Just a prediction by me
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
Very funny. Since I follow the Cubs more than any other team, I think that those 2 at the top could really set the table for others, which means more RBIs and better pitches because there are men on base. Always good for fantasy, you know?
I think you're right, this is going to give them a giant boost. That sort of scares me, since I was hoping the Cards would crush them. I love Prior and Wood, but I hate Sosa and Zambrano... hopefully they won't catch the Cards.
