Was called up yesterday and I didn't see anything posted on it so I thought I would. (I ran a search)

I live in Minnesota and am curious what other people think about his value this year and in a keeper league, will he overtake Nathan for the job next year with Nathan moving into the old "Latroy Hawkins" role? Will Crain help me out in Whip, SO, and ERA this year? I need to put Pineiro on the DL Monday and was looking at picking up Crain for his spot. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks ;-D

Well, Nathan hasn't really don anything to merit a demotion even though Crain has a ton of talent, as Nathan's ben great.

I think Crain's value is minimal for this year unless he settles into the setup role himself this year and becomes like a mota or another top setup guy.

Next year, this situation will be a must-watch. Nathan or Crain? an excellent question. Unfortunatelly it's too early to make a prediction in who's got the job in 05'. I'll say Nathan unless he blows up or is traded with Crain firmly established as a setup guy.

Next year Nathan will retain the role barring any injuries, trades, etc.

I think Crain is a huge name to watch for next year should nathan get injured etc. He will be very valuble for holds if your league counts them and he also lowers teams era and whip while dishing out plenty of k's.

I think he's lidge before lidge went closer.

That's what I am thinking too but Crain is the future closer of the Twins, so where does he fit in?? Or can he be a set-up man until it's time for him to move into the Closer's a few years down the road? Thanks

You hit the nail on the head basically. He'll be one of the best setup guys in the league until the job is his to take over as closer. Like Lidge.

Don't forget just because he doesn't get saves obviously doesn't mean he isn't valuble. I think come 2006, he's in everybody's homes as "new blood closer".

Thought this could use a bump since Crain finally got an appearance. Hopefully Yahoo will get him added tonight.
