Twins just locked up the Central. White Sox give up again. Remember a few years back when they had the fire sale trading with Giants (?) when Sox were only 3 games out. Sox go no where again.

At least Contreras had upside. Loaiza had one good year and gets almost no strikeouts. I'll bet we're paying most of both their salaries here too. Dumb. Couldn't get RJ so we felt we absolutely had to go out and get somebody. Would have rather just stayed with what we had.

im not a big loaiza fan but any trade that gets rid of contreras can only be a good thing. contreras was only going to kill the yanks in the playoffs.

I agree, I don't think Loaiza is the answer to the Yankee rotation. I think they'd be better off not making a making a move then getting a guy like Loaiza. His season last year basically looks like a fluke compared to this season and the 8 prior seasons he had before his 20 win year in 2003.
