Since they get Penny, perchance we see Wilson Alvarez return to relief?
Yes, I was, uh... I was thinking about ordering the tape, the videotape... about the college girls and the... the wild... the wildness. They're going wild or something? Somebody told me... about going wild.

I think it will be Dreifort...almost positive. Unless Tracy is using a lefty based on the situation...then I would think Alvarez (or even Martin). In the Dodger game last night, Vin was reporting that Sanchez would get a shot at pitching the 7th...which would leave the 8th to Dreifort, who has be dominant the past couple months. In his last 18 2/3 IP he's allowed 8 hits, 1 ER, and K'd 28.
Driefort is the main candidate right now. but if Alvarez is the one to leave the starting rotation, he should also be in on a lot of hold situations also.
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.

I completely agree that Alvarez will be in a lot of hold situations, but as far as pitching the 8th, I think that job will land in Dreifort's hands. I see Alvarez getting his holds in the 7th (or even 6th) inning...I also see him used in long relief when necessary.
Since lefties are hitting 45 points worse than righties against Dreifort, there's no reason to bring in Alvarez/Martin for a specific matchup with a lefty-batter during the 8th.
