Just to fuel the fire...Kazmir was untouchable for both Soriano and Beltran.
CLE? Where the hell are you getting that? Yes, we'll be studly for sure.
This is the greatest day of the Chuck Lamar Era. Just think, we could've had Hank Blalock for Joe Kennedy a couple of years ago, too. Oh well, forgiven.

Lamar is the man this makes up for some of his past idiotic moves. Can't wait to have a rotation that can actually be good, with Niemann and Kazmir as frontline starters if everything works out right.
Yep, plus Houser looks good in the middle, and Brazelton has been effectively wild this year (high walks, low hits allowed). If Dewon can polish himself up even further, he can be at least a solid #2 pitcher.
Lookin' up!
I'm just curious to see who the odd man out is in our logjam of OFs. Who's your prediction? I think I'm putting my money on Baldelli...or Crawford...

hybrid....we have disagreed on something before...but I think this might be the deal to change his mind....
I feel your pain, and all I can say is I hope Peterson can work miracles. The last months Benson has been pitching well, maybe this is the real Benson who's finally recovering from all his injuries. Could be a decent #3, although it is correct we now have to sign him long term. To be honest I dont know much about Zambrano except I hear he has great stuff, but poor control.
I would assume Peterson has watched film of these guys pitch and has seen somthing he thinks he can fix. I sure hope so as we gave up a lot.
The Benson trade was fine, but Kazmir for Zambrano has to be the worst move that Duquette made so far. In fact, who hired Dan Duquette's brother to GM? That family is cursed.
Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first, the lesson afterwards.
I haven't seen the other thread- this is the first one I opened upon getting back- so in case it isn't clear on a few things:
1. Rick Peterson is in LOVE with Zambrano's stuff. He wants to work with him because he honestly believes he can make him better, and I do too.
2. Scott Kazmir is a great prospect. However, there have been many, many questions about his poor attitude throughout the organization.
3. Huber is also a good prospect, but oft-injured.
4. Benson's stuff is also nasty, and he can only get better through Peterson's teaching.
5. Wigginton is unneccessary now that we have Wright.
That being said, Jim: What the hell are you doing? Who gives a flying about Kazmir's attitude? He's a great, great prospect, and you dealt away our future in Kaz and Matt Peterson. Great job, you poor excuse for a GM.
