Here is a report from Rotoworld...they are apparently as clueless as us right now..
Jason Giambi - 1B - NYY
Tests reportedly discovered that Jason Giambi has a benign tumor. He's expected to go on the DL. ESPN is citing an AP report of the injury. We should have further details in a little while. Jul. 30 - 10:18 pm et

Well, I do know that Benign is better than malignant. Other than that, it's hard to say for sure without knowing any details.
I just read "Death Be Not Proud" (summer reading 4 school) and like LoFunzo said, Malignant is worse. Also, if the other name of this tumor (if their is one) starts w/ "gilo", it's fatal.

I think tumors grow, which is bad, but if its begign it's not cancerous. But I think they still grow, or else it would be a cyst. It also depends where it is in his body. I wonder if he ever had parasites or if that was a misdiagnosis.
Wow..way bigger than baseball..hope Jason gets better, and has a better year next year.
