Giants to trade Felix Rodriguez to Phils for Ledee?

Interesting...I though Giants would be trading for a RP not trading one if this is indeed true.

AJ Pierzynski actually said it first on KNBR during an interview. He started by saying he just came from telling one of his teammates goodbye, and then when they asked if he could tell, first said no and then someone from behind him told him it was ok to say so he announced this deal. Haven't seen it anywhere else. Hope this isn't it for the Giants.

This move by the Giants makes sense. They love players like Ricky Ledee, you know a 4th or 5th OF that is considered trash by every other team in the majors.

The Giants love these kind of guys (Dustin Mohr, Miachel Tucker, Jeffrey Hammonds, the list goes on) anyways he will be used just like all the other giants not named Bonds, Durham, or Alfonso.............he will get playing time platooning w/ the rest of the team.

Tradin argubly the giants best RP in felix? This makes sense b/c by trading him away they free up some cash in order to go and aquire a big time closer like Urbina

Giants fans everywhere are rejoicing, no more F-Raud! Sorry folks, but if you followed the Giants, you would know that Felix was not the best Giants reliever.

This deal signals either 2 things. 1. The Giants are going to be sellers rather than buyers. 2. They’re clearing salary to make a big move. F-Raud had a pretty large contract for a reliever.

Also worth noting that Alou just said on the KNBR that the Giants will be making more moves.

TD... no WAY the Giants are selling. Magowan has been pretty loyal to Bonds and I don't think they can't not "go for it" every year until he retires. Something big might be brewing. Maybe this will be a sort-a Dewey/Truman thing. We go to bed thinking RJ is mulling over becoming a Dodger and we wake up to find out he's a Giant.

Who knows what will happen. They need a closer, another bat, and another starter would be nice as well. I just don’t think they can get all of that.

Phils' bullpen is a bit thin right now, especially with Wagner hurting, so the deal does make sense for them. Financially, he's got a 3.15 mil. player option next year, so that isn't the greatest.

Beyond that, Simon's a pretty intriguing prospect. Sounds like he has good stuff, but is wild. If he can be tamed/harnessed, he may turn out good. Ledee's crap. Why do the Giants want him, too? Quality>quantity. You can't start ten crappy guys in the outfielder.
