The Tigers called up Wilfredo Ledezma to replace Knotts in the rotation. Anyone know anything about this guy?

All of them? Hell, George Foreman did it, I couldn't fault somebody else whose taken too many hits to the head for doing it.

He had his first start last Friday, he had a no hitter going and I believe 4 ks through 3 innnings against the White Sox, then the game was delayed to rain and he never came back in. He led Double A in ERA. The only problem is he's going to be shut down in about 25 more innings or so. He's going to be in the rotation for sure next year, and the Tigers are really big on him.

The funniest part about George Foreman is the girls names, they are like Georgette and Georgetta.

I've heard several times during local Tigers broadcasts that Dombrowski thinks that Ledezma was the best pitching prospect in AA this season (of course we know that was a bit of a stretch, because I can think of at least two better prospects off the top of my head). That shows that Dombrowski likes him a lot.
Last year, he was kept in the majors for the whole season despite not being ready, because if he was sent down, he could have been lost to the team he was drafted from. Then this year, they were able to keep him down in AA to get some good work in. And it is true that he is going to be shut down soon, but he is expected to be a major candidate for the rotation next year.
