Charles Johnson - C - Rockies Choice Rockies Seating
Pending his approval, Charles Johnson has been traded to the Dodgers, ESPN's Jim Bowden is reporting.
Assume that this means Paul Lo Duca is gone, probably to Florida. Johnson has said he has no interest in leaving Colorado, but maybe that's changed now. If he goes to Los Angeles, Johnson would lose quite a bit of fantasy value. The Rockies would probably call up J.D. Closser to split time with Todd Greene. Closser would be a fine pickup in NL-only leagues.

The move to acquire Charles Johnson likely signals that the Dodgers are moving close to finalizing a deal that would send Paul Lo Duca, Guillermo Mota and Juan Encarnacion to the Marlins.
The Dodgers would get Steve Finley, Brad Penny and Hee Seop Choi in the three-team deal involving Arizona. If the deal is expanded to include Randy Johnson, Penny would then move on to Arizona. If it's just Finley, the Diamondbacks would get Jayson Werth and prospects (Bill Murphy?). The Dodgers look like a huge winner here even if they don't get Johnson, and it's becoming more likely that they will.

is this guy worth a shot?
From Rototimes:
"Catching prospect J.D. Closser is likely to be recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs by the Rockies now that Charles Johnson has been traded to the Dodgers. The Rockies planned to call Closser up next month anyway, and the Johnson trade just assured it will happen faster. Closser his hitting .300 with seven home runs and 49 RBI with the Sky Sox, and he should see plenty of playing time in Denver the rest of the season"
Shame Todd Greene won't simply take over in Colorado.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
