If Urbina goes to The Cards or The Cubs, is he going to close games?
I think Izzy & Hawkins would keep their jobs.
Ugueth Urbina, RP DET
News: The Contra Costa Times reports that the Giants have fallen out of the race for Ugueth Urbina, and the Cubs and Cardinals remain the front-runners to acquire the well-traveled closer.
Analysis: Urbina has been a deadline-deal participant twice already. In 2001, he was traded from Montreal to Boston, then last season he was traded from Texas to Florida in July also. NL-owners should watch this situation closely as he could improve their numbers dramatically if he joins either team.

i think he would close with the cubs and be a set up man for the cards. it is my opinion that the cards wont get him since the tigers said they would have to be 'overwhelmed' in order to trade him. the cards are usually bargain shoppers and if it came down to a bidding war the cubs could easily offer better prospects.

He better not go to STL. The Cards shouldn't over pay for a set up man....

They might give German another chance. He is currently closing in Toledo.

It looks like St. Louis isn't planning on taking Urbina at this point, I would be surprised if they offered something to the Tigers that they would bite on. As far as Chicago goes Hawkins would probably return to the setup role if Urbina came, but Baker is a loyal guy, so I wouldn't be all that surprised to see Hawkins keep the job. And I would say the Tigers would go to Esteban Yan if they shipped off Urbina.
