Tino Martinez a Yankee again?

Postby jumpman8288 » Wed Jul 28, 2004 12:35 pm

I heard on the radio that the Yanks might be trying to get Tino again, probly to replace Giambi if he ends up missing the rest of the year. I think Tony Clark is a great replacement to play everyday, but if they do get Tino, does he gain any fantasy value?

Whoever is play 1st for the Yanks will have some fantasy value but I don't know why they would think Tino is an upgrade over Clark?

If he goes back to the Bronx Tino becomes an excellent pick up.

btw - that would be an amazing move by the Yanks. He can't pitch out of the pen, but still an amazing move.

I pray that Tino goes back to the Yankees. That would be an unbelievable move. We need some of the old Yankee mystique back and Tino is the only man left. I don't care if he bats .220 when he comes back, I just want him on the team. PULL THE TRIGGER GEORGE!!! :~(

Fred McGriff worked out at the Yankees' minor league complex yesterday, according to the New York Daily News. With the health of Jason Giambi uncertain, it's possible the Yankees would consider signing McGriff to give them some veteran depth.

Take him away. Can we sell him to the Yankees? He costs way more than he's worth. We'd be better off letting Gathright DH or something.

I'd much rather have Clark than McGriff. But Tino is another story...
