I remember reading about it in James' abstract, I'll have to dig that up at some point. I'm thinking the winning pitcher was Jim Palmer and the losing pitcher (the answer) was a Royal.

That's where I get a lot of my facts from and it's obviously where you answered my bunting question.

Ok, so I'm only on page 38 but still, I'm really enjoying it. What did you think of it?

Pretty sad that I could remember the name of the first guy to bunt, but can't remember the name of the pitcher from my hometown Royals. The book was alright. I love James' passion for statistics, but don't completely agree with several of his player rankings.

It's not Splittorff but you're almost there! You have the correct teams, and Palmer was the winning pitcher.
